Alpha 1.0


Finally released my passion project after a long stretch of inactivity. This current Alpha 1.0 version has 125 cards, 15 stages, 4 Factions, 11*11 = 121 different difficulties for each stage, and a passible visual presentation. Full Changelog including pre-alpha releases is included in-game. I plan to polish the game during Alpha 1 before continuing with adding cards, stages, and mechanics. Alpha 1.1 will probably include missing menus/screens for winning, pausing, and setting as well as new particle effects for every kind of interaction. I will also expand upon existing tutorial pages.


Alpha 1.0 (03/03/2022)

Content

  • Replaced Summon Goblin & Summon Undead with Lesser Explosion & Greater Explosion in Advance Base Set.

Major Changes

  • Added card highlighting for selected cards in several circumstances. (Will be made prettier in the future.)
  • Implemented a new particle summoning system as well as new particle effects for several card effects, spells, and burning a card.

Minor Changes

  • Edited several sound effects.
  • Player 2 is now AI-controlled by default.
  • Cleaned up the code for handling decisions and targeting.
  • Updated several menus.
  • Updated several packages.
  • Added a new sound effect by NicknameLarry (https://freesound.org/people/NicknameLarry/). 
  • Added sound effects to several cards.

Balance Changes

  • Engineer's active effect cooldown is reduced from 5/4/3 to 4/3/2.
  • Changed “discard” in Arsonist, Spell Eater, and Thug’s effect text to “burn”.

Fixes

  • Cards on the field at the start of the stage played their play animation and sound effects.
  • Arsonist, Spell Eater, and Thug didn’t trigger card burn events.
  • Smuggler was playing an active effect sound effect even when it couldn’t use its effect.
  • Smuggler was causing out-of-bound errors.
  • Changed Player 0 to Player 1 and Player 1 to Player 2.
  • Boss increased the boost status of a card by 1 instead of 2.
  • The active effect of Attacker didn't have a sound effect.
  • AI was trying to do several invalid plays, crashing its script.
  • Localized Time Rift used to be able to be played on a completely empty slot.
  • Fixed several typos.
  • When there was a decision, zooming out of a card played the decision sound effect again.
